This is a birth cyst (congenital cyst) or swelling present in front of the neck. Treatment includes removal of cyst as well as small central portion of the bone in front of the neck to avoid recurrence. Mr Kumar can request special investigations to rule out if this is the only functioning thyroid tissue in the body.
